The book that makes me sick is Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad.
Not that there are any gross or graphic scenes in the novella… I just really, really don’t like it. At all. Hence, the announcement that I was to study it at uni made me physically, emotionally and psychotically ill.
Except for that one line: “The horror! The horror!”
That line is pure gold.

what’s so bad about it? i’m curious…
OK, I may have been a bit harsh.
It was just a personal feeling. For me, the book seemed to drag a lot; I had trouble getting into the story and there was way, WAY too much description. Don’t get me wrong – I LOVE me some adjectives – but this was too much, even for me! I simply didn’t enjoy it… And then my teacher joyfully announced we were going to be studying it that term… Umm, yay?
Thanks for reading and commenting!
It’s nasty, anything by him is that way. I scorned myself, went away to read something fun, chose another title….SAME. Tried reading again….SAME. I think that I hold that some of what is listed as a classic is GARBAGE. Yes, I am being random too!
Glad I’m not the only one!

lol…I will be staying far far away from his stuff then…
My Lord, I’ve turned someone away from Joseph Conrad. My English tutor must be shouting in anguish right now.
