Hello for the second time today, readers! If you’re growing weary of the abundance of LtBG posts in your inbox, fear not! You’ll notice I am creeping closer and closer to the catch-up line, at which point I will (hopefully) be able to post the single post a day that the Challenge calls for.
But for now, I present a rather silly, dialogue-only post for Day Nine. It’s not my favourite piece, but… c’mon. I’ve posted eight responses over the past three days. My brain is fried!
Day One can be found here.
Journey
“What are the conditions, private?”
“Fine, Admiral. The ship is in perfect condition, and the solar winds are in our favour.”
“What of the asteroid field?”
“Scans show that our current trajectory will give us thirteen degrees of leeway; we shouldn’t face any problems.”
“Excellent, excellent! Nothing will stop our discoveries now, right lad?”
“Of course, Admiral.”
“That’s the spirit. Keep a weather eye out, men! We should be… Oh… Oh, yes! There! Portside, gentleman! We’ve done it! We’ve discovered new land!”
“Uh, Admiral?”
“Yes, private?”
“That’s our planet.”
“…Shit.”
