“DAY 18: Wild at Heart”

You may have noticed that I’m posting later in the day today. That can only mean one thing: I am StRuGgLiNg!! Not to say I’m not having fun, because I am. This is delightful! But the poor ol’ brain is feeling frazzled, so please excuse the less-than-quality editing that’s going on.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, and I might be able to continue my once-a-day streak!

Other posts for Day 18 of the BlogFlash2012 Challenge are here.

My first Day is here.

.: Wild at Heart :.

I am the night.

I move with the swiftness and subtlety of the wind. Scaling trees like a feline, I crouch in wait of my prey.

It comes. My every sense is heightened; my spine is rigid in anticipation. Muscles tensed, I prepare to pounce, and—

Ow. Goddamned splinter.

I go home in search of antiseptic. I will try again tomorrow…

  1. LOVED IT! Great angle.

  2. A very different take on the prompt and loved the splinter bit at the end! Great stuff!

  3. A fantastic piece! I’m sorry to hear you were struggling. Next #BlogFlash will have weekends off for a rest! That said, this piece was great!

    • Thanks Terri! Weekends off would be a wonderful idea!

But that said, it has been fantastic to have a reason to write. University has kept me so busy that I was rarely picking up a pencil, and these flash stories have been a wonderful cure! So thank you. :)
