Day 27 of the BlogFlash2012 Challenge, folks, and today I’ve written a love-story… Of sorts. It wouldn’t be “Me” if it weren’t a touch dark, now would it? I hope you enjoy, and any comments or constructive criticism is always welcome.
Day 1 of the Challenge can be found here.
.: History :.
Though they have no recollection of it, their past lives have intertwined often. They find each other again and again; deepest feelings unremembered consume them, driving them to each other’s arms and making each feel, finally, complete.
In the cruellest twist, it seems their every meeting is to end, swiftly and cruelly. They no sooner find each other when, within a month, a week, or even a day, she is taken from him.
Within the hour, he, too, is gone—taken by his own hand that he might find her again, in another life, with another heart.
- Love The Bad Guy

What an incredibly moving piece! I love how you’ve used this prompt – it’s very hard-hitting!
You’re paying for my new laptop Missy! I’ve just drowned it in my river of tears.
Serious beans though, this is beautiful work. Your piece here just flows so nicely. I really like this idea of a never-ending search to rekindle love in different life-times. Love, along with the high’s of the journey, is really a never-ending, intense, cyclical and emotional journey – especially if you miss or are in search of a loved one, like this poor fellow.
I enjoy how your work starts off so delicate, giving the reader a chance to form their own presence within the story and feelings about what is being read. Then you wickedly twist it into a Shakespearean tragedy in the best way possible.
However, your endings don’t always feel like a complete tragedy. The way you write really allows readers to use imagination and judge where they want to take the story. Just brilliant. Gets me every time, it does!
Cheers!
Wow, what a review, Lizzie! Your comments always make my day.
Thank you very, very much!
All good there bruz!
Wow! What a beautiful, poignant yet heartbreaking tale. You sure know how to mix things up with the prompts! Absolutely loved this!!
Thank you, Carlie.
